Raja Ravi Varma fame was known  world wide when his painting won first prize in “Vienna Art Exhibition” in 1873. He took a journey through out India and portrayed the beauties of india in canvas. He captured the charm and royal touch of the princess and royal families all around India. He often rechristened Hindu Goddesses on South Indian women, who were  beautiful and same time simple. Raja Ravi Varma is mainly noted for his paintings form the story of Dushyant and Shakuntala, and Nala and Damayanti. Indian imagination of the epics is based on the  e of the paintings of Raja Ravi varma. People in India saw the face of their Godsthrough Ravi Varmas Paintings. He died in the year 1906.
